Preschool (Or Any Age) Teacher Gifts

The Problem: I Am a Horrible Gift-Giver This year my daughter began preschool and we feel so grateful to have found her amazing school and teacher.  I wasn’t exactly sure what the teacher gift-giving protocol is, but I know it’s pretty typical to do a holiday gift and an end-of-the-year gift.  This is the woman who spends 4 mornings a week with my daughter. Besides changing her gross diapers and wiping her nose, she hugs her when she falls down and teaches her a new language. I am a horrible gift-giver and always have an awful time trying to figure […]

Vegas Trip Roundup: Part Two

We woke up Saturday morning fresh as daisies- one of the best things about no longer being cool party people. GO US! We took our time getting ready, and decided our first meal of the day would be lunch at secret pizza inside the Cosmopolitan. Its not much of a ‘secret’ anymore… but it was still good. We found a prime location right outside of secret pizza with sofas and a coffee table to set our food on. It was the perfect people watching spot, near the Marquee pool party. Let me just say, of all the people watching locations… […]

Vegas Trip Roundup: Part One

The Ok Moms – Vegas Momcation Hey everyone! I divided our Vegas Momcation into two parts…. so lets get into it… Danielle & I traveled to Las Vegas for a girls getaway a few months ago for our first kid free vacation. The big question while planning was ‘what do you do in Vegas when you are mentally an 80 year old cat lady?’ THURSDAY We both got in Thursday late afternoon. Danielle picked me up at the airport and we went straight to our hotel- The Paris, for check in. My brother-in-law hooked us up and let me just […]

Things We Love: Basic Invite

This is a sponsored post, but all opinions are our own.  We only work with brands that we love (and we think you will love too!) Ok everyone, we don’t gush about paper often but we have to say it…. We love Basic Invite! There’s a whole world of sites that seem to disappoint in some way, be it color schemes that don’t work for your party theme, ugly envelopes, dorky graphic design… We could go on forever.  When we came across a site where everything was customizable, aesthetically pleasing, easy to navigate, and the kicker- offers sample print outs […]

Spring Fashion Trends 2017

2017 Spring Trends

2017 Spring Fashion Trends Yes, Its risky taking fashion advice from a mom from the midwest… I realize that Minnesota is hardly a hotbed of sartorial action. However I promise you, I do my homework. These are the trends I think will be big this Spring/Summer 2017. Shopping links in pictures. WESTERN The western trend is big this year in accessories… shoes and belts with the big buckles. Small or large, I love the look of a big buckle and I think its such a fun way to add hardware and shine that isn’t  jewelry to an outfit. The Inspiration: […]

How to: Create An OK Valentines Basket

Christmas is over and its time to focus on the next holiday up- Valentines day.  Side note- I should really take my tree down. As a kid, Valentines Day was my favorite holiday. My mom threw me these awesome after school tea parties. There would be a spread of cutesy decorated sweets and kiddy champagne in my teapot…. I felt like a celebrity. The cherry on top was always the Valentines basket. I knew the minute I heard “its two girls” at my 20 week ultrasound that this was a tradition I had to keep alive. Plus you gotta soak […]

How to: Create an Ok Tree

So Christmas time is upon us yet again. Inevitably you will be bombarded with images of perfect decor on Pinterest and Instagram, where ladies of leisure taunt us with their sponsored $900 trees and handmade garlands. Places like Pottery Barn start sending out those catalogs, reminding you that your children might just need their own trees in their rooms (NOT HAPPENING). Well I’m not Martha, or a celebmommy Instagrammer… But… I’m gonna share my tree tips, because I like you!
